My name is Najwa Jordan, I’m 19 years old. I’m in the active duty Army and have been serving for a little over 9 months. I’m from the country so I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty. I’ve worked with almost all farm animals. Pigs are a no for me 😬 I worked on a chicken farm and have volunteered on several farms on the weekends. I have a green thumb, I love plants!!! I’ve also worked at a produce market called wittens farm market! I’m an artsy person I love painting and drawing, always have since as long as I can remember. I like read and to bake! My favorite thing to bake is probably cookies and cake! I have 5 siblings and 2 cats back home and I’m from Zanesville, Ohio.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked with a foster care home for 4 years. The foster mother is a disabled stay at home momma so she needed extra help when her husband at work or resting due to his demanding work schedule. The kids that went through their home ranged from 5 months to 16 years old. I’ve also worked with special needs kids, ADHD and ADD, and autistic kiddos during that time.
I’ve worked at a day care called the little barnyard for a little while before I left for the army. I worked with toddlers and occasionally babies.
I have also baby sat for my family. I have a little brother who is now 10 years old, 2 younger cousins, who are 1 years old and 8 years old, and I have 1 niece (5) and 2 (1 and 7) nephews.
I have baby sat friends and families fur babies too! Cats and dog.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love for kids to be outside and doing activities like coloring or reading! Seeing the gears turn in their head is always so rewarding especially when it’s a fun activity! Like cooking or arts and crafts. I love reading with kids because usually their eyes are glued to the book especially when reading to them.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most import part about working with kids is having a connection! And it has to be genuine. No matter how old the kid is you’ll make an impact on them!

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs children comes from the foster home helped at. I’ve also volunteered at my home town church for a night for parents to drop their kids off for some free time while they’re kids went through different activity stations that were both fun and educational.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have several favorite moments but the top 3 would be when I took my little brother out with one of the foster kids to get froyo. The foster boy is autistic and one thing that helped with his anxiety was music, so I turned on his favorite song ( trumpets) on the way to the froyo place and he was jamming out in the car 😂 at the end of our trip he couldn’t help yelling that it was the best day ever and that melted my heart!!
I baby sat another foster child and her brother. She was 4 years old and loved playing dress and being her baby dolls mommy. She couldn’t pronounce my name. Every time she’d say it I couldn’t help but to giggle. She’d say Naj sha, it’d almost sound like nausea 😂
At the day care the toddlers would see one specific kiddo who was a cuddle bug give me hugs or just want to be held and almost all of them would want hugs or cuddles.
