More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked for Grace Community School in Lindale, Texas where I was a toddler teacher for ages 1-2 years old. I was a part-time babysitter/tutor for kids ages 0-14 at LifeSource church. I also was a child care worker at the foundry for parents who needed personal time and had important work meetings from Monday-Thursday. Every summer I work as a "camp counselor" where I babysit children ages 1-5. I create activities, provide snack, plan nap time and play time.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Activity time is my favorite! I enjoy arts and crafts almost more than the children themselves, haha. I take part in individual play where they play with the toys available to them and I play with them. I enjoy taking them to the park and actually engaging with them. I provide chalk, coloring books, puzzles, legos, etc. I'm pretty creative so there will be a new activity to hang on the fridge every day...

My experience with special needs children...

I have volunteered in a ministry named Joy. We did crafts, snack, and fun accessible activities. I helped children get back and forth to the restroom and just helped with anything they need. I gain relationships with them immediately so they know that they can trust me and that I understand them. I am also a part of coordinating the year round event, Night to Shine. It's a special needs prom, with Tim Tebow as a surprise guest every year. It's amazing. Your kid will be well taken care of.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have many favorite moments with all of the children I've worked with! My favorite among all of them, is when we finally establish that relationship and just enjoy everyday together. I promise that your children will be loved on and will always look forward to nanny kayla arriving with the fun!
