More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
Providing consistent, hands-on childcare support as a nanny for two families in total, with one family currently ongoing. In these roles, I have been responsible for supervising daily routines, supporting developmental activities, preparing meals, and maintaining a safe and engaging environment.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Are to make activities fun, engaging, and developmentally beneficial while helping children feel comfortable, confident, and supported.
* Age-appropriate arts and crafts, music, and sensory play that support early development for infants and toddlers (0–3 years old).
* I love engaging little ones in simple creative activities like finger painting, coloring, and exploring textures to help build fine motor skills and curiosity.
* Music is also a big part of my approach. I enjoy singing songs, using rhythm instruments, and encouraging movement through music to support language development and coordination.
* For younger infants, I focus on gentle sensory stimulation, storytelling, and interactive play that promotes bonding and early cognitive growth.
* I enjoy incorporating learning into everyday moments, such as reading picture books, practicing colors and shapes, and encouraging exploration in a safe, supportive environment.

The most important part about being a nanny...
Is creating a safe, consistent, & loving environment where children feel secure enough to grow, explore, & express themselves. I’ve learned that strong childcare goes beyond daily care. It’s about connection, trust, & presence.
* Building real relationships: Getting to know each child’s personality, needs, and comfort style so they feel understood & supported.
* Consistency and trust: Being dependable so children & parents feel secure.
* Encouraging development: Supporting milestones like language growth, social skills,
& independence through everyday interactions.
* Creating a calm, engaging environment: Using music, play, reading, and creative activities to make learning feel natural & fun.
* Patience & adaptability: Meeting children where they are, especially when supporting different developmental or special needs.
Overall, I believe being a nanny is about showing up with patience, care, & intention every day, and being someone both the children & parents can genuinely rely on.

My experience with special needs children...
Includes supporting children in both childcare center and in-home settings. While working at Lil Village, I served as an assistant teacher where I often provided one-on-one support during classroom activities to help meet individual learning and developmental needs in a structured, nurturing environment. I also have in-home nanny experience with a family of two children, including an older child with autism. I supported this family consistently for about two years, primarily caring for their infant starting at 3 months old, while also working with the older child in the afternoons after daycare and school. In this role, I helped support routines, transitions, and calm, structured activities that worked well with her needs and comfort level.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment is with the family I currently work with. After being with them for about two years, I’ve had the joy of watching their youngest grow from a 2-month-old baby into a curious, expressive little one. One of the most special moments for me was when he first started saying my name, “Kiyah.” Now he points to me when he sees me or hears my voice and says my name, and even greets me with little phrases like “Hi Kiyah.”
Being able to witness his language development and personality grow over time has been incredibly meaningful. I’ve also built a strong bond with his older sibling, and together we’ve created a trusting, loving routine. Moments like these remind me why I love what I do and make the experience of being a nanny truly rewarding.

Part-Time Nanny Available in Gaithersburg, MD: Marcely D.
Hi, My name is Marcely and I'm from Brazil. I'm a caring, fun, and loving person who always does my work with a lot of dedication and love. I would like to share a little about my experience. I started taking care of my little cousin in 2015. I helped change her diapers, looked after her during the day, spent time playing with her, and prepared her meals. After that, I had several other experiences with children. I also volunteered at a daycare, where I worked both with babies and with children between 2 and 3/4 years old. I helped with their development, including speech and walking.
I was also an au pair for two years, from October 2023 to October 2025. I stayed with the same family during that time and took care of three children who were 4, 7, and 10 years old when I started. I prepared their meals, drove them to many activities, It was a wonderful experience where I both taught and learned a lot from the children.
Best regards,
Marcely
