I love doing arts and crafts and going on adventure walks; letting children get their hands, feet, and/or environment dirty lets them not only get more comfortable with me, but get more comfortable learning to clean up after the activity is over!

To me, the most important part about being a nanny is creating a space where a child feels completely safe, seen, and unconditionally supported. Children are sensitive to the energy around them—they know when they’re truly being cared for. What matters most to me is building a genuine bond with the child and their family. I want every child I care for to feel like they’re allowed to be themselves, to explore, to make mistakes, and to grow with someone cheering them on every step of the way. It’s not just about routines and schedules—it’s about helping to shape their little hearts and minds, and that’s a responsibility I hold with so much love and intention.
My experience with special needs children...
I have cared for kids with ASD at my daycare job. My little brother also has ASD which has helped me gain so much empathy for the children, as well as knowledge for how to handle many different situations with them.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making a HUUGGGEEEE 5 gallon batch of slime with my daycare kids and letting them play in it and add charms, glitter, shaving cream, and anything else they could get their hands on that day. Not only did the toddlers learn more hand eye coordination and the preschool children got to practice spelling out letters, but they all had fun making it and cleaning up afterwards!
