Making sure the kids are safe, happy and comfortable. Guiding them when necessary and making things fun. I think it’s important to let kids be kids and to express themselves in a positive way. It’s important to lets kids grow and learn about themselves and their own personalities, and I enjoy being there every moment for it.

I currently work with kids with Autism and other developmental disabilities. The ages range from 3-7 with a 1:1 ratio.
The most important part about being a nanny...
I haven’t been an official nanny, but I can share a moment with current kids I work with as an RBT. There is a kid at my center who is 3, who unfortunately is severely underdeveloped and doesn’t have a proper form of communication, which is what we are working on and other things such as motor skills. Anytime I see any progress, wether it’s them imitating an echoic or completing something by just me modeling something, it WARMS my heart and makes me feel so accomplished for them.
