Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy helping children with any schoolwork they might have. Education has always been very important to me, especially with young ages! Other than schoolwork, I enjoy playing outside and using imaginations as well as a cozy time inside playing games, building, coloring, or watching a movie or something educational. Screen time is something I try to keep minimal though.
The most important part about being a nanny...
To me, being able to build a strong connection with the children and families is very important. Most of the times, children just want to be understood and heard which is totally understandable. I also believe safety and supervision plays a big role in nannying.
My experience with special needs children...
While working at Country Home Learning Center, I had 3 special needs individuals in my class that were non verbal. I would help them with communication as well as understanding their emotions.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite moment while nannying HAS to be when me and the child were drawing and I told her I really liked her picture of her animal (my mistake for assuming). She then proceeded to tell me that it was a drawing of me and her and that she was very mad at me for assuming that it was an animal.. BUT she stated that "I have taught her well enough to understand that she cannot scream or hit me when she's mad.. but that she can use her words). I felt very proud!!!!
