A little bit about me

Hi! My name is Katelyn but i go by Nicole, most kids end up calling me “miss cole.” I have worked at a daycare with 10month olds all the way up to 5 year olds. I have babysat many times for the parents who's children were in my class and i find that i personally love babysitting smaller groups rather than 14 of them all at once! I plan to go to Physician Assistant school to be a PA and i am currently an undergrad at South Alabama. My classes are in the morning and only an hour long so id be available almost all day everyday! Currently ive been working with students who have intellectual disabilities at south and i love it. If i didn’t want to be a PA i would probably be a teacher for students with disabilities! I don't mind picking up groceries, dropping kids off for events or helping with cooking, cleaning, or homework! If you ever need some help (even last minute help) contact me!

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Nazarene learning center! At the time i floated between 10 month olds all the way up to 5 year olds. I was mainly with the 2-3 year olds but enjoyed it! I have also babysat kids who were apart of my class at the daycare multiple times and always love the one-on-one interaction.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love to get them involved with coloring book, stories, and making fun edible slime! I have tons of fun ideas that are safe for the younger children to eat if they everything they touch, and i have activities for older kids such as having to “saving” the monster trucks from the “iceburg” id love to share my ideas and see if you’re comfortable with them because i end up having fun with them myself!

The most important part about being a nanny...

The kids of course!! I love being able to spend time with kids, helping them experience new things, and making them laugh. However, i also think the parents needs are very important. I try to help the parents feel as little stress as possible helping any way i can. Skill wise i think patience is extremely important. Kids know how to push buttons and will push those boundaries everyday. Thats why patience is so important. Its also why give parents a break to concentrate on work and life and health are so important too.

My experience with special needs children...

I have been working with students with disabilities for almost 3 years now and absolutely love it. I have also baby sat children who have intellectual disabilities such as autism, Down syndrome and more. Every one of them is absolutely precious and brightens my day.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment has to be when my kid left his remote control truck on the table and hid behind the recliner with the remote. He started making the wheels turn and i “gasped” and looked around going “how is it doing that? I think theres a ghost!” And he thought it was absolutely hilarious. Its nothing super big, but it still holds a special place in my heart.
