A little bit about me

Hi my name is Nicole! I am 24 years old, born and raised in Ohio. I love working with kids but cannot provide a consistent schedule during this season of my life, due to family things and another part time job. So I need something very flexible, but I would love to pick up a few more hours of work, and love to get involved with some kids. I worked as a teachers assistant in a school in Honduras and in a daycare here in the states. I speak English and intermediate level Spanish. I grew up playing sports, and enjoy reading, being outside , fitness, and connecting with people.

I worked as a teachers assistant in Honduras for 5 months, and did babysitting 2 days a week for a family in Colombia for 5 months as well. Both groups of kids were about preschool/kindergarten age

The most important part about being a nanny...

For me, it’s showing kids true, hard love which is not always what they want. But it’s choosing to be consistent even when they’re being difficult, choosing to act in patience, choosing to play with them even when I’m tired, choosing to listen when they cry or are frustrated, helping them to learn to deal with their emotions, express them, and also deal with conflict, even at a young age. To me, it’s being firm but kind and teaching them to grow with that same firm love, teaching them to grow and have good manners and self discipline. All that starts with the little ways we treat, relate to, and love them at their youngest most vulnerable age.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite was when I was babysitting in Colombia, one of the little boys was very difficult , but I kept trying to just love him and be consistent to him. After some time, he started having random moments of telling me how much he loves me and asking to sit with me for activities and other random moments. It was very sweet
