My experience with special needs children...
I've cared for a few children on the spectrum sensitive to noises, texture, preferring certain textures, enjoying music - some struggled with sitting still with the class, usually unable to participate with classmates but they would at times get involved with some singing or just stare. Some classmates would rub their back to comfort them or play hide and seek with them from watching teachers or parents.

Seeing children sing the Bible verse songs we've been learning at the top of their lungs to their baby sibling or seeing them learning their vowel and blend sounds at such an early age.
