I’ve been an ECE teacher for over 35 years and hold CPR, First Aid and DHS Fire Safety certifications. I’m also a Mom of three children (ages 35, 21 and 19), so I truly understand the care and attention children need at every stage.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Arts & crafts: (painting, coloring, collage with magazines), playdough, building with blocks, LEGO or Magna-Tiles.
Learning through play: puzzle time, matching games, sorting games, letter/number scavenger hunt around the house, simple science experiments baking soda + vinegar.
Movement and Energy Burners: Indoor obstacle course, dance party or freeze dance, balloon volleyball (don’t let the balloon hit the ground.)
Imaginative Play: Dress-up and pretend play, storytelling time (visit local library,) build a fort with blankets and have a “campout,” role-play every day routines.
Calm & Quiet Time: Reading corner or storytime, coloring with calming music, simple baking or cooking together, sensory bins (rice, beans, water play with supervision.)

The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is building a safe, loving and trusting relationship with the children while supporting their emotional, physical and developmental needs.
It’s not just about care — it’s consistency, patience, and becoming a dependable, positive presence in their daily lives.
