When I was 22 I started working at a boys group home. There were six children ages 6 - 12, and the group home's resident family, including their 18 months and 4 years old children. I was hired to be the children caregiver. I cooked, cleaned, nurtured them, and set boundaries in their lives. I kept them safe and loved.

My name is Cycoya, spelt crazy I know. I’m the oldest of 3 kids. I’m 17 with two younger brothers 7, and 2 who are absolutely a handful but I like to think if I can watch them any other kids I watch will be easy peasy. I know I am young but I started babysitting as soon as I turned 12 for 3 families that I still watch to this day. When I turned 14 I became a counselor at the camp I had been going to since I was 5 and did that until I was 16, even though it was just for the summer I learned how to work very well with all ages of kids from 4 to 12 and kids with autism and ADHD. May not sound that impressive but it was just me and 3 other girls my age watching 60 of these kids which was very chaotic but I really did take away so much knowledge and learned how to deal with a lot of challenges I couldn’t even imagine.
