A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Noah. I am looking for a part-time position as a nanny. On top of my experience as a part-time nanny for families in my community, I also grew up helping my mom with her daycare, which included kids from age 6 months to 10 years. I am willing to do light housework, meal-prep, laundry, school work assistance, and other house care that is needed. I am a hard-working, caring and kind individual that you can depend on at all times. I have a passion of working with kids and am currently going to school with the goal of becoming a child librarian.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

My mom has run an in-home daycare since I was in middle school. I help her set up meals and snacks for them, take them places like the zoo and the library's story time, play games with them, get them ready for nap times, and occasionally help the older kids with homework (elementary school age). I also have two nieces I babysit often, ages 8 and 3. They enjoy going on park play dates and doing learning activities, such as handwriting practice, learning shapes, learning baby ASL, and now, math and reading, with the older one.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy helping children learn new skills and improve on the skills they have. In my family, we teach basic ASL signs to help communicate. I also enjoy reading stories and making fun, interactive crafts.

The most important part about being a nanny to me is helping children grow into their own person and reach their full potential.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with a child with physical disabilities and a child with developmental disabilities. My niece, age 8, has Cerebral Palsy, and I have a bit of experience helping her with exercises that she learned in physical therapy. My mom also babysits a four year old with (undiagnosed) developmental disabilities. She is non verbal but understands everything we say. We work with her by learning sign language and teaching her basic signs. She also has a big fear of change, even small changes, and we work with her anxiety by teaching her ways to self-soothe when she starts to get scared.

The most important part about being a nanny...

With the kids I've worked with, picking a favorite nanny moment is so hard! One of my favorite things about growing kids is when they learn what we'd say are the most basic parts of life. Toddlers learning language and learning to talk is one of my favorite life moments.
