What matters most to me is making sure the kids understand my care are happy to see me again. I strive to create connections and friendships with all children under my care, while still maintaining respect between us both. Knowing I can play a small part in helping a child grow into a successful and well adjusted adult is very important and valuable to me.
My experience with special needs children...
I have a partially deaf and autistic brother who is 4 years old. Since birth I’ve helped with appointments for both his auditory impairments and to encourage him to speak, as he is completely nonverbal. I also care for two children with special needs daily at the Boys and Girls Club, helping to de escalate and calm down the children during periods of tension or panic.

My favorite nanny moments are when the kids will say or do something undeniably hilarious while misbehaving, but you still have to keep a straight face and redirect them to the right path because if they see you laughing it might encourage the behavior
