Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Most recently I was a Substitute Teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools, where I received routine feedback across seven different schools that I was one of the best subs students
and staff had ever had. This role further deepened my patience, problem-solving, de-escalation, and neurodivergent- and trauma- informed skills.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy playing or exploring outside, playing games, working on projects (arts & crafts, science, engineering), and reading. These activities are engaging and stimulating for
both the child and I. As an athlete and former theater kid, I love encouraging children to use their imagination and create their own activities.

The most important part about being a nanny...

is working with the family and children to create a nurturing environment that has mutually understood expectations and behavior management.

My experience with special needs children...

As a teacher, I've worked 1:1 and in groups with neurodivergent students, guiding them to their full potential while navigating autism, nonverbal/speech challenges, ADHD, anxiety, depression, Down Syndrome, limited mobility, intellectual disabilities, and a variety of other conditions. I am patient and consistently study up on best practices, prioritizing first person advice (ie from autistic researchers).

The most important part about being a nanny...

Last year I lived in Côte d'Ivoire, west Africa and babysat my neighbors 3-6 times a week. The main crew included 3 two-year olds, a four y/o, five y/o, nine y/o, and 3 fourteen y/os. A highlight was an art day where we all painted together and the kids invited their friends to come. We also played A LOT of soccer outside and made up goal dances, news anchor reports, and cheers.
