A little bit about me

Hii! My name is Olivia, I’m 18 years old based in Dothan, Al. I love working with kids, I grew up in a big close family with cousins upon cousins and then they all had kids so I was the designated babysitter for them. Whenever they wanted to go out, if they had work, or maybe they just needed a helping hand it’s would always be me that they called! Now I’m currently working on cpr and first aid training but i’m very well versed on cooking, cleaning, entertaining, and teaching basic skills/ helping meet milestones! I’m hardworking and very focused, I’m not going to check my phone a million times or go to the bathroom every 30 minutes, my full attention is on the kids!

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Like I mentioned in my description I’ve cared for family members kids before. I’ve also babysat my own friends kids, aswell as a few gigs with family friends children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I loveee to play outside, go on walks, watch fun movies (mostly musicals), play card/board games, make crafts, ect. I also like to bake with them! teach them fun and easy recipes, anything hands on is my favorite

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe it’s being there for the kids in more ways than just helping with homework, or simply watching them. The most important part is giving them a safe place and a healthy environment! I want all the kids I nanny to feel happy or excited when they know i’m coming because that means i’m doing something right. I want them to be able to go back the their parents with new skills and better vocabulary, more confidence in things that they didn’t think they could do. My ultimate goal is to improve their quality of life and assist the parents on things they need, even if it’s cleaning the bathroom or going grocery shopping! I’m here to help and that’s what’s important

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had a positive experience with children who have special needs! I’ve babysat three kids (separately) with autism on all sides of the spectrum. I’m good at redirecting energy, aiding to sensory issues, and instilling confidence that no matter what goes on in their head or what people
say to them, that they’re smart, kind, and special!

The most important part about being a nanny...

It was with a small group of children, ranging from 10-4, I set up my own “fun day”! we made pizza, baked cookies, I set up a fun slip and slide with a little kiddie pool, we painted and i taught the oldest how to work a polaroid! To end the night we made a bigg fort, made popcorn, and watched a fun disney movie!
