Aloha, my name is Olivia! I’ve been on Kauai for 2 years + currently live in Kilauea town. I graduated from University of Minnesota - Twin Cities in 2021. I have been a passionate school teacher, nanny, camp founder, + babysitter for over 10 years. Caring, guiding, + loving children brings me a ton of joy! Before coming to Kauai, I was a substitute teacher for an elementary/middle school district! I loved the opportunity to be an inspiration + guide kids in the classroom. Before that, my sister and I ran a summer day camp with kids ages 4-11 and had the most epic summers with them! We fostered meaningful relationships + gave the kids opportunities to be immersed in nature through fishing, forest walks, + sparked their creativity through musical instruments, paintings, crafts, + water games!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love crafting with them- kids are so expressive at such an early age. It's really fun to encourage them to create!
Cooking and baking is super fun. It's really empowering for the kids to learn how to make food for themselves- and delicious baked goods!
Being in the water with the kids is amazing! So great to connect with them, the water invites a lot of play and fun.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Building connections with them so our relationship can be one of Trust and Love!
Making sure their needs are met- both physically and emotionally to best of my ability.
Inspiring them to have awareness about what's going on within them or in the situation.

My experience with special needs children...

In high school I worked directly with special needs peers. I worked closely with their teachers to partner with the students in academic classes like math and then worked with them in gym, art, and homeroom.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was watching Greyson, who was 8 at the time, climb this gorgeous tree while we were on a walk! It was so sweet to see her climb up there as I spent so much of my childhood doing the same!
My favorite camp moment was when our neighbor gave us this 30-40 foot slip and slide that spread across the whole yard, we put tons of soap on it and watched the kids fly belly first across the slide. So fun!!
