More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have extensive hands-on experience caring for children in a variety of settings. I currently work in a daycare where I care for children ranging from 6 weeks to 4 years old, spending most of my time in the toddler classroom. This has given me strong skills in supporting early development, managing routines, and creating engaging, age-appropriate activities. In addition to my daycare experience, I have years of babysitting experience and a background in caregiving through my roles as a Direct Support Professional and group home manager. These experiences have strengthened my patience, adaptability, and ability to provide attentive, compassionate care for children of all needs.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love engaging kids in fun, hands-on activities that spark creativity and learning. I especially enjoy messy sensory play like water activities, painting, playdough, and other tactile experiences that let kids explore freely. I also enjoy arts and crafts, simple science and discovery activities, imaginative play, and reading books together. Music and movement are a big part of my time with kids as well. I also value outdoor time—whether it’s going on walks, playing at the park, or just exploring outside. I like creating a balance of structured activities and free play while encouraging curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in a safe, supportive environment.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part about being a nanny is creating a safe, nurturing, and trusting environment where children feel secure, supported, and valued. Building strong relationships with both the children and their families is key, along with clear communication and consistency. I believe it’s important to support each child’s individual needs while encouraging their growth, independence, and confidence.
My experience with special needs children...
I have some experience working with individuals with special needs. In school, I participated in Buddy Club, where I spent time supporting and building relationships with peers with special needs. While I don’t have as much hands-on experience with children with special needs, I worked as a group home manager supporting adults with a wide range of needs. In that role, I developed strong skills in patience, communication, and adapting care to each individual. This experience has helped me feel confident creating an inclusive, supportive environment and working closely with families to meet each child’s unique needs.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moments come from building strong, genuine connections with the kids I care for. I love taking the time to understand their personalities, interests, and what makes them feel safe and happy. Watching that trust grow—when they come to me for comfort, excitement, or to share something new—is really special. It’s also incredibly rewarding to watch them grow and develop over time, whether it’s learning new skills, gaining confidence, or becoming more independent. Being a consistent, supportive presence in their lives and getting to be part of their growth is what I find most meaningful.
