Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I was a nanny for my brothers 4 children for a year. Though this was not a professional job and was directly with family, I had the opportunity to learn how to nanny children between the ages of 18 months-7 years old. I made meals, kept the house clean, and of course played various things with the children.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love doing chalk and bubbles outside as I feel that provides so many opportunities for creativity and imagination. You can turn something as simple as that into a game, whether its run away from the bubbles, draw your own pretend pet, or tag with bubbles.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Is showing to the kids you watch that you believe in them and care for them.
My experience with special needs children...
I have grown up with being around special needs and physical impairments, and am well educated and understanding with them and there needs. I have a 19 year old down syndrome sister, and a 15 and 24 year old brothers who have cerebral palsy that effects their walking and speech. I am aware, sensitive, patient, and kind towards children and people with special needs and other needs, and love the opportunity to serve and help them see their great worth and purpose.
The most important part about being a nanny...
When my niece who was 3 at the time would show me her ballerina dancing, which she called "balleray", She would always end up in a dizzy, laughing heap on the floor. She loved Ballet, and had so much joy and pride when she showed me her ballerina skills
