More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I volunteer for an elementary school, working with their after school drama program.
I have also been babysitting and nannying since I was about 12 years old, so almost 9 years.
I've worked with kids under 1 year, all the way to kids as old as 13.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love dancing, arts and crafts, going to the park, or really any little adventure the kids are up for!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Letting the kids be heard is so important. Meeting the kids on their level rather than forcing them to get on your level is a powerful tool.
I have made connections with every child I've met. I've never interacted with a kid who didn't think I was fun. It's so important to me to be the kids friends while also being a strong example for them. Nannies are role models.

My experience with special needs children...

I don't have a ton of experience working with special needs children outside of high school peer tutor class. But I have worked with a SNAP group, which was the highlight of my senior year! (SNAP- Special Needs Activity Programs)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I told the kids we could play for 5 more minutes and then it was time to get ready for bed. About 1 minute later, they asked me if we could play "bedtime." Of course I said we could, so they started brushing their teeth and putting their pajamas on!
