Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to do any types of activity with children! I love to color and plan crafts, as well as going outside for bike rides or park visits. I try to make sure the children are always tired out by the end of the day so bedtime is a breeze!
My experience with special needs children...
I have worked with a child who had autism as well as physical disabilities. His behavioral plan included ABA, which is where I learned about its purpose and the structure of a session.
The most important part about being a nanny...
My favorite nanny moment was traching a child how to do sign language. I know the basics- toddler signs and the alphabet- but he absolutely loved it! I felt genuinely accomplished when I saw the confidence he had in himself when learning how to introduce himself and spell his name in ASL. We made sure to practice everyday and even watched ASL videos together, to minimize his individual screen time but still allow some exposure, in an educational way.
