A little bit about me

Hi, I’m Patricia! I have 30+ years of experience with children of all ages, over 25 ECE units, and a heart fully devoted to nurturing young minds. I’m a proud mom of identical twin girls now in grad school, happily married for 36 years, and fluent in English, Portuguese, and proficient in Spanish. In addition to being a nanny for many years, I’ve also run my own daycare, worked as a lead Pre-K teacher, and built lifelong bonds with the families I’ve served. I was also a stay-at-home mom, Girl Scouts leader, co-president of our school’s parent association, and a dedicated community volunteer. My experience has given me a deep understanding of child development, emotional needs, and creative learning. I’m an energetic 54 yr old who’s very kind, dependable, and who loves arts & crafts, storytelling, reading, traveling, and planning fun, enriching activities. Children light up my world, and I feel deeply honored to be a loving, trustworthy, and nurturing presence in theirs.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

In addition to my professional experience, I’ve had many meaningful roles caring for children. As a mother of twins, I gained additional hands-on experience from infancy through adolescence. I also served as a Girl Scout leader for several years and was an active classroom and yard duty volunteer throughout my children’s elementary school years. I helped plan and organize book fairs, walkathons, and after-school programs like dance classes etc. I was also a dedicated member and later, co-president, of our school’s parent association, where I helped plan events that brought families and children together. These roles deepened my love for working with children and strengthened my ability to nurture, guide, and support them in all settings.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

There are so many activities I enjoy doing with children, but at the top of my list is reading children’s books together and making regular visits to the library, it’s such a special way to bond and encourage a love for stories. I also love taking them to the zoo, the park, and having little picnics outdoors. Crafting and baking together are also favorites; kids love getting hands-on and creative, and it’s a great way to build confidence and connection. I enjoy taking them to birthday parties, movies, and extracurricular activities, too. I truly enjoy being active and present, and I love filling our days with fun, meaningful, and enriching experiences that create lasting memories.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I believe the most important part of being a nanny is genuinely loving children, being responsible, and serving as a positive role model who can help instill lifelong values. Beyond that, it’s about being attuned to a child’s emotional and developmental needs, knowing when to provide structure, when to nurture, and when to let them explore and grow. A great nanny should create a safe, loving, and engaging environment where children feel seen, heard, and supported. Communication and trust with the family are also key, as we work together to provide consistency, guidance, and a strong foundation for the child’s well-being.

My experience with special needs children...

I’ve had the joy of caring for children with special needs both professionally and personally. While running my daycare, I cared for Matthew, a little boy with Down syndrome. We built a beautiful bond, and I often say I learned more from him than he from me. I’m still in touch with his family today through message and Facebook and we’re planning to see each other in person this Summer. I’ve also been closely involved with my best friend’s autistic son, helping care for him regularly. He’s now a gifted pianist attending the Curtis Institute of Music. In addition to hands-on experience, I’ve completed a Special Needs class as part of my Early Childhood Education studies.
These experiences have taught me patience, empathy, and the incredible power of acceptance and support. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to be part of these children’s lives.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I’ve been blessed with so many meaningful moments as a nanny that it’s hard to choose just one. But one that truly touches my heart is caring for the children of a boy I once nannied from the time he was 8 months old until he started kindergarten. We stayed close throughout the years, and now that he’s 35 and has a beautiful family of his own, I occasionally nanny for his two daughters. It feels like life has come full circle, and I’m so honored to still be part of their lives. His parents have become like family to me and we’ve shared every Xmas together for years.

Another family I nannied for became family as well. I cared for their three boys, and over time they became the godparents to my own twin daughters. We’ve shared every Thanksgiving together for the past 30 years. They attended every special event in our lives.

These relationships mean the world to me. I’m proud to say that every family I’ve had the joy of working with still holds a special place in my life.

Part-Time Child Care Provider Available in Walnut Creek, CA: Hailey S.

Hi, I’m Hailey! Originally from Lake Tahoe, I grew up with a love for the outdoors and a heart for service that I carry into everything I do. My background is a bit of a "best of both worlds" mix: I studied English Education at CSUMB (so I’m always happy to help with essays or reading!), and I’ve spent years mentoring kids through either my current job with The Boys and Girls Club of San Francisco or previous volunteer programs during my undergraduate program with The First Tee, and a local holistic therapy horse riding program. Being a Girl Scout my entire upbringing really instilled in me a sense of responsibility and creativity that I bring to my childcare style. Whether we’re tackling homework, getting active outside, or just being creative, my goal is to be a supportive, fun, and reliable presence for your family!

Babysitter Available in Walnut Creek, CA: Saliha K.

Hello, I am Sally, if I were to tell you briefly about myself. I have a cheerful, helpful and harmonious character. Since I was the eldest child in a working family, I had to deal with the task of raising my 4 siblings. From the moment they were born, I took care of their feeding, education and health, and I am proud of it. I am pretty good at dealing with large numbers of children. I have a strong educational background and I can easily help with homework. In addition, I prefer to show an attitude in favor of working in a planned manner and in accordance with the rules.I do not have certifications in first aid and CPR, but I have received training in this field many times. In addition, I am prepared for emergencies that may arise. I think I am physically capable of taking care of children.

Hi, my name is Maria Paula. I'm 27 years old, and I'm from Colombia. I currently live in the Bay Area, California.
I have a big heart for children and lots of experience caring for them. As an au pair, I looked after three wonderful kids: a 9-year-old, a 6-year-old, and a sweet baby from 3 to 16 months. I taught the baby Spanish through songs and games, and I loved creating fun, educational activities that made each day special for them.
Right now, I'm studying English and working hard to grow my career as a nanny in the U.S., because caring for children truly brings me joy.
In my free time, I love reading stories, drawing, dancing, capturing special moments with my camera, and exploring new places-always finding beauty in little things and creating memories that last forever.
