I want to be a part of raising a kind, gentle, confident human being who knows right from wrong and respects other people and other people's feelings. But at the same time understands his or her own value and self worth.
My experience with special needs children...
On several occasions I have subbed for a caregiver who cared for a paraplegic mother who had 2 children who were both autistic. There ages were 16 and 19. Both were high functioning physically and one was high functioning mentally as well. The other's autism included an element of mental illness which regularly presented with hallucinations and anger.
The most important part about being a nanny...
A very sad moment for me was when I had to say goodbye to the 4 children I had been with for 5 years, since they were nearly babies. They were so sad and so was I. We cried. Mom too. BUT being with them and being their Miss Patti was the best thing that ever happened to me in my life.
