More About Me
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I am a painter, so naturally I love interacting with kids through arts and crafts. Whether it be painting, story telling, singing, dancing.
Every activity would be personalized for each child's abilities and interests.

The most important part about being a nanny...
My role as a nanny is to make sure that your baby continues to feel at home. It's important that I get to know them and their relationship with you so that I can meet their needs and your requirements. Most importantly my job is to keep them feeling safe and confident.
My experience with special needs children...
A few years back, I cared for my three year old nephew, who is autistic. I cared for him for the duration of a summer, about four months. It was challenging at first, as he got used to his mommy being away. But as soon as we got into our routine it was easier for me to catch on to his unique needs and tendencies to better communicate with him. Overall it was a very eye opening experience that I'll always take with me.
The most important part about being a nanny...
While taking care of my friends four year old boy, I had him draw out a little story of his choice.
As he drew, I asked him many questions about what he was drawing. He talked about his nightmares, Matias at the time was struggling with bedtime monsters. He drew out the scary monsters and then drew himself telling them to go away. I felt as though he was venting in his own way.
By the time bedtime rolled around, I read him his book of choice and we talked about his drawing and how much better he felt seeing how small the monsters looked on paper.
This was just a one night drop-in but I was really proud of how well I was able to connect with him on his level of understanding. I also felt good that little Matias was able to get a goodnight sleep before his parents came back home.

I spend more time on the floor with children, interaction and stimulation are vital for development. I sing a lot, talk a lot and marvel at each milestone. I love children and animals and tend to become an integral part of the family unit. One of my families coined me a modern-day Mary Poppins.
