More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been studying early childhood education, development, and psychology for the past 3 years. I am on track to get my degree in organizational leadership and learning on the Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education track with a Minor in Applied Family Science. During this time I have observed and volunteered at public schools of all age groups, and 5 star pre-school centers where I was able to work with the kids and learn from experts. All of my experience has been unpaid, but I have been babysitting for free since I was 14. I have babysat ages newborns-10 year olds, and believe working with children to support their development is my life's purpose!

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a fun-loving person, and I honestly enjoy myself when doing any sort of activity. Indoors or outdoors! I love music, games, movies, art, cooking, baking, and so much more! I can also help your child with homework or any concepts they may be struggling with!

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have always been a very nurturing and intuitive person, so as an adult, I knew I wanted to use that in my career as well. I will always feel the most fulfilled and proud of myself when it comes to making a positive and helpful impact on a child's life. Being a nanny is a great way to make a difference in a kid's life, but it also helps support parents who are stressed and overworked or maybe just need some adult time! I have always wanted to help others in any way I can, and being a nanny fits in with my passions. I eventually want to work in non-profits supporting children and families, so being a nanny while I work my way up to that point is a great way to follow my values.

My experience with special needs children...

I have only observed when it comes to my experience with special needs children. I have observed in many different types of special needs classrooms, and am very educated on the topic. I have very little hands on experience so far, but I am a determined and fast learner!

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when I was working with a 4 year old girl and had been having regular visits with her for about a month. I wasn't totally sure if I had built a connection with her yet, until she came up to me and said "I made a dance for you! Can I show you?" and I of course said "Yes!" and she started doing a dance that resembled an irish jig. It was so cute! At that moment I knew that all my hard work to connect with her had worked and I really felt like I was someone special in her life for the first time. The best part about working with kids is knowing that you have the power to shape their minds and help them learn and grow their cognitive, social, and emotional development just by interacting with them and building those connections.
