Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have several years of experience caring for children in both professional and personal settings. While I was in college, I worked with a family for two summers caring for their three children. I have also nannied for families in my neighborhood and provided childcare and dog-sitting for family friends. Additionally, I gained nannying experience while I was in high school. Along with my nannying experience, I have several years of experience teaching dance to children of different ages, which has strengthened my patience, communication, organization, and ability to create a fun and supportive environment.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I enjoy doing a variety of fun and age-appropriate activities with children! I love playing outside, going to the park, doing arts and crafts, reading books, playing games, dancing, listening to music, and helping with homework. I also enjoy baking or cooking simple things together and finding creative ways to make everyday activities fun. I’m always happy to follow a child’s interests and come up with activities that keep them engaged, learning, and having fun!
The most important part about being a nanny...
I think the most important part about being a nanny is making sure the child feels safe, comfortable, and cared for. I want to be someone they can trust and feel comfortable being themselves around. I also think being patient, dependable, and attentive is really important. Most importantly, I want the parents to feel comfortable knowing their child is in good hands and being genuinely cared for.
My experience with special needs children...
I have personal experience caring for a child with special needs through growing up with my brother, who has cerebral palsy. I helped my mom and family with his care when needed, as well as assisting our nanny at our house.This experience taught me the importance of patience, understanding, attentiveness, and adapting care to each child’s individual needs.
