Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I’ve been a behavioral technician, ABA therapist, in/out of home nanny, interactive child care tech and personal assistant and nanny for families (in various environments with children ranging from ages 2 to 13 years old) since 2019.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Indoor activities include gaming (board or video games that promote learning and social development), chore and or learning charts, interactive games that promote sharing and creativity along with collaboration and inclusivity. Outdoor activities include kickball, painting and or chalk art, bracelet/jewelry crafting, and other fundamental games that children can bring to school or other activities with peers in their age group. Older children have and may enjoy other more advanced games that include a musical and or competitive aspect.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is watching the growth and development of your children. The person they are upon my first day compared to the person they are on my 100th is completely different. I’m blessed to have the opportunity to watch your children grow, learn, and develop skills that they’ll take with them throughout the rest of their lives and I’m honored to be able to share in the joy that comes with learning their favorite song or book or pair of shoes. Being immersed in every experience, big or small, is the most important and rewarding part of this work.

My experience with special needs children...

I have experience with children who have Autism, Asperger’s Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Cancer, ADHD, Defiance Disorders, and those who have aggressive or combative personality disorders.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment is when a child (who was otherwise labeled “difficult” or “hard to handle” finds their passion in something that I’ve introduced them to (like a new game or activity) and rather than reacting negatively to a situation, I have the honor of witnessing them choose that passion instead of hitting, biting, or throwing something. I get to see them choose to the person I know they can be and that’s something so remarkable.
