When I was teaching, I worked with kids 4-6 yrs. of age. I loved their authenticity. The sweetest moment I have ever had was with one of the students. She was very reserved and quiet, so I always gave her space and only helped if she asked that of me. One day she did not want to play with the other students, so I offered a seat next to me. Next thing I know she sat right next to me and grabbed my hand and said, "Ms. Perla you're so nice, thank you." It was something so simple, but it meant the world to me.
