The most important part about being a nanny...
I think most nanny’s think it’s just to take care of the kids but I believe you genuinely have to connect with kids for them to really accept you. Coming into a house everyday waking up and cleaning and watching them won’t really do much. Make sure they are happy.. Include them in things that you do. Ask them if the want to help you cook or something like that and if their a bit younger prop them up on a chair and let them watch you. But having an actual connection with your kids you are babysitting is the most important.
My experience with special needs children...
I babysat for a 4 year old boy with autism for two years. He wasn’t really a fan of me at first, but once he started to see me every day and got used to me he ended up loving me. We ended up being so close he cried when I had to leave. And he wasn’t really one for crying. Even upset of hurt he hated to cry so it was really emotional and bittersweet.
The most important part about being a nanny...
So the current family I am with, one of the little boys struggles eating his food. So one time I noticed he was eating extremely quick (or so I had thought) . I was doing dishes at the time so I had turned my head back really quick to see what he was doing and he was spitting his food out onto the floor and letting the dog eat it because he wasn’t hungry. I busted into laughter because that was so smart! I wrapped his food up and he ended up finishing it later on when he was actually hungry! One of the best stories ever
