Although I haven’t officially babysat or nannied children with special needs, I’ve always felt a strong desire to work with and support everyone, including those with special needs. Both in and outside of school, I make it a priority to include and connect with everyone, because I believe every person is special and deserves kindness, respect, and attention. The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite babysitting/nannying experiences was with a sweet six-year-old boy I cared for over a year and a half. From the first day we met, we connected instantly—spending hours building Hot Wheels tracks together. At the end of that day, he didn’t want me to leave, and that moment stuck with me. He was so kind and fun to be around, and our bond reminded me why I love working with kids.
