A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Rachel, and I'm 20 years old and currently doing online school through UNM majoring in French and International Studies. I love working with kids and used to babysit for family friends when I was in high school, so I figured this would be a great way to earn some extra money and make a good impact on kid's lives! I am extremely proficient in any subject and would be a great tutor, especially to younger kids. Both of my parents are teachers, and I've taken college math, science, and a plethora of english and history classes, so I can help with any grade level homework. I'm also a great cook and don't mind working long hours or helping out around the house.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have worked as a tutor for children for my local church growing up, and have babysat for a few family friends as well. I also worked as a tutor during elementary school for kindergartners. I've had a lot of experience tutoring or being around young children.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I absolutely love hanging out with kids and expanding their imagination. I'm comfortable with playing pretend and doing whatever game they choose; but I'm a great tennis player and would love to teach kids what I know about tennis, volleyball, basketball, or any sport they wish to play. We can play hide and seek or read stories or play tag, or whatever would be best for their age group.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making a true impact on the children's lives is the most important part about being a nanny. Showing them how to use their imagination, how to be kind, and how to have fun and play and be a kid.

My experience with special needs children...

In theater class in high school my friend and I were in a class which was integrated with the special needs elective classes, and we always did group projects with them because not many people volunteered to do so; but they were so willing to learn and I loved doing projects in that class with them. There were also a few kids in my church youth group who had autism, and my family and I were close with their families for years.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite moment was one I forgot to include in my past experiences - a little boy that was the son of my youth pastor in high school, actually gave me one of the most interesting babysitting experience of my life. He tried to put crayons in his mouth and run around the house with his pants on his head, but it was honestly just a silly funny experience and he was a total character. It was difficult, but in the end it showed me how much I love working with kids.
