A little bit about me

Hi my name is Rachel Ehrlich. I have loved working as a nanny for the past six years. I have learned so much and thoroughly enjoy helping littles find their own way to be a part of the world around them. I am happy to provide baby sign, introductory music theory and instrument play, basic toddler learning skills (numbers, letters, colors, shapes, etc.) all taught with play and nature. I believe it is very important to inspire children to love learning by example.
I can also provide tutoring and homework assistance for elementary and middle school children.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

For the past six years I have been the private nanny for two little boys (currently ages 5 and 6.5).
I have worked with children since junior high school in church settings. For my first job, I was employed at a nursery working with 18 months to 3-year-olds and in the baby room.
I have also provided babysitting services throughout high school for family, friends, and teachers. I currently babysit, every once in a while, for friends and recommendations when I am available.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I enjoy taking kids to playground outings, for walks, to the grocery store, museums, etc. and am happy to oblige any extracurricular activities parents would like their child(ren) to participate in.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part about being a nanny is catering to each child's individual needs and personality. I do not believe that there is one way to raise children. Each child is his or her own person with their own way of processing the world around them. It is important that you understand one another in order to teach important life skills and moral codes so they can flourish in the future.

My experience with special needs children...

I do not have any special training in caring for children with special needs. However, I am happy to provide care as needed with assistance until I understand their needs better and we have a repour.
I have assisted in the care of a 5 year old going through chemotherapy and other treatments for leukemia and am more than happy to administer medications in a caring and gentle way.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment was when the 6-year-old began learning to read and he did not even realize it. I saw an excitement and love of learning in him that warmed my heart.
