I think the most important part of being a nanny is building trust and making sure the child feels safe and supported. It’s not just about watching them, but also creating a positive environment where they can have fun, learn, and feel comfortable. It’s also important to build trust with both the child and the parents, while balancing fun activities with responsibility and structure.

My experience with special needs children...

I don’t have formal professional experience yet, but I do have personal experience. I have family members with autism and Down syndrome, and being around them has helped me develop patience, awareness, and different ways of communicating. I’ve learned how to handle situations where someone may be overstimulated or need extra support by staying calm and adjusting my approach to their needs.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I haven’t had a formal nanny role, but one of my favorite moments from babysitting was when I was baking Halloween cupcakes with my niece. We got to decorate them together, and she had so much fun being creative. Seeing how excited and proud she was at the end made it really rewarding for me. I love moments like that where kids are learning, creating, and having fun at the same time.
