A little bit about me

Hello! My name is Raylena and a little about me is I’m 21 years old. I enjoy the outdoors like walks or hikes with friends.
I love taking care of kids, growing up, I would babysit for family friends. I believe a child requires a lot of attention and patience. Some of the things I would do besides taking care of their kids was some cooking and moderate cleaning if needed. I’m comfortable with any animals and would be willing to help out with them as well. My schedule is pretty flexible and open as of right now. I’d be ready to start whenever at whatever time. I have a car so I am able to commute. And I will be able to provide a drivers license as well.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

An experience I had other than babysitting was I used to do this after school program for elementary students when I was in high school. In there, I would watch kids and help out with indoor and outdoor activities . I assisted in some tutoring with homework assignments as well.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I love playing these crazy games that kids have come up with. I like mystery games like hide and seek or even coloring and drawing.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I would definitely say one of the most important parts about being a nanny would be the bond between the nanny and the kid(s). For kids, I feel they’re very judgmental as far as who they feel they can be themselves around. With that, I’d say that’s why putting in that effort and time to connect with the kid could help things go more smoothly. Understanding how a child is could help with their understanding of their behavior and what they really want or need in those moments. I’d say there is also that establishment in compromising between what the child wants to do and what the child needs to do in certain moments like if they need to be changed but they want to go outside and play. But overall, I’d say the important thing is that not only the parents, but that the child feels safe around you.

My experience with special needs children...

My experience with special needs was during my time in high school while at that after school program. There was one student who had autism. He was not able to speak as much, he communicated more through his hands. Although, he was hesitant at first, I was able to build a sort of connection between the both of us through his love with coloring books and the way we communicated. It wasn’t the easiest at first, but with through some time and patience, everyday I learned something new about how I could help him feel more included and comfortable.

The most important part about being a nanny...

As a nanny, there were many sweet moments, but one stands out. This little girl Lily, all of four years old, was having a tough day. I tried everything, like her favorite toys, shows, but nothing seemed to be cheering her up. She said she wanted to go outside and so I took her out and sat to watch her. Then, out of nowhere, she comes running up to me and grabbed my hand leading me to the little garden they had. There, amidst the roses, she started telling me a story about a princess who could talk to flowers. Her eyes sparkled, and her voice was so filled with imagination.

I listened, and of course adding my own little twists to her tale to go along with it. I remember we were just laughing, and whispered secrets to the roses, and for a while, it was just us and the princess. By the time her mom came home, Lily was so happy and excited telling her mom about the day we had. It just brought me so much happiness seeing that smile appear and was definitely one of the favorites.

I'm a family person, hanging out with family every night no drama. I have family dinners with cousins, aunt and uncle's every month. I go to church every Sunday. I have good grades at school, almost straight A's. When people asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up when I was a kid I always said I wanted to be a mom.

Hello, my name is Grant and I am currently a college student who likes being around children. I have worked in school districts in the past as a tutor and have made good memories with the pupils I have had the opportunity to help with their academic goals.

Having a seven-year-old sister, I have been partly responsible for taking care of her from preparing her food, bathing, dressing, homework help, and playing. I enjoy her company and would like to share that care with other children
