While working in church ministry, I collaborated with leadership to help plan lessons, organize activities, and maintain an organized safe environment while actively engaging the kids in both weekly and seasonal events. As a toddler teacher, I have 6 children in my care, with up to 12 when one other person is assisting me. Throughout the day, I am planning and teaching lessons, leading arts and crafts projects, potty training and diapering, facilitating meal times, putting kids down for naps, and engaging the kids in play and outside times.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Anything creative! I love planning different crafts to do or letting the kids lead and seeing their creativity shine. Having dance parties and playing make-believe fosters creativity just as much! I also love having reading time with the kids. We can not get enough books in my classroom! Not only is it fun, I can see how reading really affects verbal and emotional development. Another important part of the day is outside time. Whether we are taking a walk, playing with bubbles, or exploring new bugs or flowers we find, being out in the sun is always a highlight of the day.
