A little bit about me

I have been babysitting since I was 7 years old. I currently work as an art museum educator at the Kimbell Art Museum. I have a degrees in developmental psychology, art education, art history/painting and drawing, and information science. I specialize in family programming at the museum and work primarily with kids 2-12 years old as well as teen studio programs. I love working with children and with an education background, I want to make sure that the kids I am with spend time learning and doing activities in addition to regular play and care. I am a practicing artist with an interest in papermaking, bookmaking, printmaking, and painting. Truly though, I dabble in many art forms. I have a German Shepherd who is almost 3 years old and she is my very best friend. We spend a lot of time walking and exploring outside.

Making a connection with your child/children. It is so important to build a good relationship with the kids you take care of. It is important for me to be emotionally in tune with your child so that I can take care of them in a way that benefits and promotes their growth and learning.

My experience with special needs children...

I work pretty regularly with children on the spectrum. As an adult with ADHD, I find that my own experiences growing up neurodivergent help me connect with and understand the reactions of children who are also neurodivergent.

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have been babysitting and nannying my best friend’s child for the past 8 years now (she is 10 years old now!) and most of my favorite moments with her centered around art exploration and making. There was one time that we poured paint onto canvases and then flew them like frisbees in the yard to create interesting flow. It was so fun and funny!
