I worked at La Petite Academy as lead infant teacher, team lead, and safety captain. I was a nanny for a year and a half after that, worked in Healthcare for a while, and am now back to nannying! I've been with my current families for 1 year and 2 years and have been doing a nanny share for several months!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love to sing and think music and art are very important. I also love doing outdoor activities and baking with children. (The older ones, of course.)
My experience with special needs children...
My most relevant experience was as a mommy's helper for a 4 year-old girl with autism and apraxia. I saw her 3 times a week for 6 months and my job was to play with her and help her with her speech development. I'm very proud of the connection I built with her and the immense progress she made during my time with her. At La Petite I also worked with several special needs children on occasion.
