A little bit about me

Hi, I'm Bekah!I grew up in Slidell, LA. I've always had a love of music and cooking. Most of my high school career was spent in choirs and musicals . After high school I worked as an EMT for two years before finding my love for music again. I left EMS and started working at my local theatre and giving vocal lessons.
My mom was a teacher, so I grew up changing diapers, making bottles, and keeping babies happy. My 1st family had three boys. I started nannying for them when their youngest was one, and now he's almost 8! While working with that family I also did weekly childcare for a church for three years (14 children ages 1-15). Most recently I worked for Smartsitting Nannying Agency in New York.
One of the reasons I love working with children are the small victories you can have with them. I truly believe that the small victories are just as important as the big ones and one day they may contribute to a child becoming a successful and happy adult.

The most important part about being a nanny...

The most important part of being a nanny is helping teach life skills, morals, and being able to make growing up a little less scary. I think its easy to forget how overwhelming growing up can be. While parents are amazing, I think it's important for kids to have someone besides their parents they can trust and confide in. And someone who can help them grow confidently in themselves.

The most important part about being a nanny...

One of my favorite nanny moments was working with my most recent family in New York. The boys had just come home from school, but it was raining and impossible to go to the park. So we spent the evening having dance parties, they helped me make spaghetti and meatballs. And since it was a special day they had bubble baths. It was a sweet time on what could have been a hectic and crazy day.
