"Our family never had the need for a nanny before Jan 2020. I gained legal guardianship of my 2 neices and nephew and our family of 5 grew to 8 overnight. We were honest with Remy - the children we took in had been severely neglected, each had significant developmental & emotional delays. Remy was incredible with these kids - 5, 3, and 2. The 3 and 2 year old were even non-verbal! The extreme patience, love, and care she provided during the 5 lucky months we employed her will have a life long positive impact for each of the kids. Due to the children needing such attentive care, we did not expect Remy to do any household up keep. Remy knew this and took initiative countless times to fold the kids laundry, clean and unload dishes, etc. Remy also took the time to actually be involved. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I have been a tennis and swim coach for the last two years for my old high school and worked with those kids. Along with this I was a summer swim coach for the six and under age group and helped those kids develop their confidence and swimming abilities.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I have always loved being outside which lead to me being able to enjoy taking the kids I nanny on walks, bike rides, and out to swim and even play tennis. While there are days when the weather doesn’t allow outside activities, I have also always been a fan of crafts with my own Father being an Art teacher in the schools.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Making sure the kids feel safe in their environment and that they are having fun while doing so has always been the most important thing when I nanny for a family. In certain situations it’s also extremely important that they are able to find educational value in what they do along with having the experience of just being a kid and having a good time.

My experience with special needs children...

My Mother works with special needs children in the school system which always gave me a great insight on what it is like to work with kids in that position. I have also had the privilege of babysitting for a few different families over the years that have had toddlers with developing symptoms of autism and ADHD.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moment so far has been when the old family I nannied for back in Ohio threw me a surprise going away party for my move out to Washington. All of the kids painted me a board with their handprints on it and I was able to have such heartfelt moments being able to look back on my time with them.
