A little bit about me

When my girls were younger, I was a volunteer at Head Start where I helped in the classrooms and the cafeteria. I taught lab classes in a culinary program at a local college. But my heart lies with children and that is how I ended up with the private nanny position for a visually impaired little girlWhen I first saw the post for the position, I knew I had to apply. Not everyone has the patience or wherewithal to handle a spirited, fun-loving, active blind 7 year old who acts as though she has absolutely no impairments. I picked her up daily from her specialty school, helped with homework, drove her to weekly karate lessons, cooked her meals, helped out with light household cleaning, and worked hard to help keep her mind and hands busy. I truly enjoyed being her nanny and becoming a close friend to her and her family. I have the experience to create a nurturing, engaging and fun environment for children. I also have experience with infants and toddlers.
