A lot of my experience with kids comes from being the designated babysitter of my nieces at family functions and I really enjoy just spending time with them and being able to hear about their unique perspectives on different things.

I really like coloring and drawing with kids to allow them to express their creativity. Playing pretend with dolls and such is great because I know how enjoyable it was when I was little. I also encourage kids to read and firmly believe that reading and writing your own stories are great and fun developmental tools.

Is encouraging playfulness, creativity, and kindness, while also setting boundaries. Kids don’t really understand boundaries so I think that playing and talking with them are perfect moments to implement the necessary skills to understand how life works but also to have fun!

I bonded with my nieces over the Turning Red Disney movie and they had me sing the songs from the movie with them. When Encanto first came out, they also had me follow dances with them to the songs. It was a really fun moment that I hope they’ll remember when they’re older.
