Working with two year olds I’ve had quite a bit of experience with potty training children. One of my more stubborn potty trainers had been giving her parents a really hard time with going to the potty at home, despite being potty trained at school. I got a call from her parents one evening over a break that they were so excited to share with me that their girl had gone all day with no accidents. Witnessing children meet their milestones and celebrating with them and their parents has been the most rewarding part of my job.
I tell my children that “I love them big” as often as I can. One child in particular was mildly speech delayed, so hearing him talk was not something that happened often. We were sitting on the floor playing with cars together and unprovoked he looked at me, grabbed my face, and said “I love you big Rhi!”
