A little bit about me

Hi, I’m River! I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Human Development, and I’m getting a PhD in Experimental Psychology with an emphasis in child development. I previously worked as a nanny for two wonderful families, which gave me valuable, hands-on experience with early childhood development. I stepped away from that work to complete my bachelor's degree, and now, I am looking for a little extra nanny work as I continue my education. I'm excited to bring my experience and passion for child development to a temporary role during this time.

More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

I worked at an elementary school during my senior year of high school. I worked with ages 5 to 10. My role was to mentor groups of children with behavioral and/or emotional challenges. I also was a reading specialist, aiding in comprehensive, mathematical, and social skills. I’ve had the opportunity to nanny for two amazing families. In both roles, I cared for children ranging from infancy to early school age, supporting their daily routines, engaging them in age-appropriate activities, and helping foster their emotional and cognitive development. The experience really strengthened my understanding of child behavior in real-world settings and deepened my passion for developmental psychology. It was a big part of what inspired me to pursue my degree and now continue on to grad school.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

I am a super artsy person. I LOVE to paint, draw, and really anything that involves creating. I also really enjoy baking, (brownies are my favorite!). I enjoy reading books too, I am really into fiction/fantasy. One of my favorite activities I did with my last kids I nannied was we read a couple series of fantasy books! It was so fun to see them get excited to read!!

The most important part about being a nanny...

Nannying is important because I believe the experiences children have in their youth really does set them up for experiences in the future. I think if I can help aid that with giving a healthy and loving environment, they will use it as an influencing tool for the future.

My experience with special needs children...

While I do not have a ton of experience working with special needs, I am willing to learn, as long as the time constraints work with the family.

The most important part about being a nanny...

My favorite nanny moments, I can't pick just one, was all of the funny games my five year old would have us playing. She was so creative when it came to imagination!! She would have us diving into the deep ocean to receive treasures, her favorite stuffed animals, that she hid around the basement.

Babysitter Available in Fayetteville, AR: Kristin C.

Greetings! I love children very much. I studied Early Child Development in college and became certified to work in a preschool with an emphasis in infant care and I only stopped once I had my own children. My five kids are getting older now and I miss the younger ages! I recently became a postpartum doula and so I have experience with families with young ones although I love all ages. I have spent time volunteering at a camp for those with special needs and that was also delightful. I would love to serve your family!
