The most important part about being a nanny...
From my experience, the highest priority in nannying is for parents to feel connected and supported, maintaining the knowledge of being in the driver seat of their children's developing lives. Kids are seen and heard, while challenged to discover their world and society in a safe, loving and fun atmosphere. If they are given the room to reach with the guidance to learn how to think, rather than what to think, they blossom wonderfully.
My experience with special needs children...
For many years, I've grown inexperience with multiple children on the "ADHD" spectrum and neurodivergence. Not a fan of words like deficiency and deficit. I find these children are high intelligence in various means, and require finesse, authenticity, high perception and intuition in their caregivers.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Wild and Wacky Fruit Day. I picked up numerous fruits that were out of the ordinary to teach the kids about how things aren't always the way hey appear. Jackfruit, pineapples, avocado, leche satrfruit and more, introduced the kids to new foods and opening their minds to looking beyond the surface of things. Although there are so many wonderful memories, this one was loved by everybody. Also, avocado was not a hit.
