More About Me
Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...
I have 27+ years in early childhood education. I started as a daycare assistant, worked my way up through schooling & hands-on hours, & eventually became an Infant & Toddler Supervisor, the highest you can go in an early classroom. I later earned my BS in Psychology with a child emphasis. Because I adore two-year-olds, I’ve somehow potty trained over 100 kids. Yes, really. It’s my oddly specific superpower.
Teaching eventually got way too political, so I chose to support families one-on-one or in small groups instead. Once I got a taste of child-led days, forest adventures, & not getting sneezed on by 14 toddlers at once, I never looked back. I’ve run a nature-based toddler program, cared for infants through teens, supported kids with disabilities, & worked as a household manager. I’m happy to run errands, meet work crews, handle schedules, do overnights, help with homework, drive kids everywhere, & wrangle big animals

Activities I enjoy doing with children...
Activities that I enjoy doing with children are exploring the woods, collecting “treasures,” building forts that absolutely become their own little worlds, getting messy with sensory play, reading cozy storybooks, doing art projects that take over the whole table, baking simple treats, gardening, splashing in puddles, going on little adventures, & turning everyday moments into magical learning opportunities.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part of being a nanny is creating a safe, loving space where children feel seen, valued, & encouraged to be their truest selves. It’s not just about keeping them busy or on schedule—it’s about being the steady grown-up they can trust, the one who listens, guides gently, teaches through everyday moments, & celebrates who they are. Kids thrive when they feel secure, understood, & supported, and being the person who helps make that happen is the heart of this work.
My experience with special needs children...
My experience with special needs children includes supporting kids with behavioral challenges, ADHD, autism, Asperger’s, & children who use feeding tubes. I focus on patience, clear communication, gentle guidance, & meeting each child exactly where they are. I’ve learned that every child has their own rhythm, their own way of expressing themselves, & their own strengths just waiting to shine.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Some of my favorite nanny moments include watching a child’s face light up when they master something they’ve been working hard on, listening to their wildly funny stories that somehow make perfect sense to them, exploring the forest together & finding “treasures” that absolutely must come home, hearing toddlers proudly use new words, watching shy kids come out of their shell, & being trusted enough to be their safe, silly grown-up.
I love those quiet moments too—the ones where a child reaches for your hand without saying a word, or curls up next to you with a book, or looks up at you like you’re their whole world in that moment. Those are the memories that remind me why I do what I do.
