I was a lifeguard and swim instructor at the YMCA for 2 years. I have taught kids ages 2-14 to swim. I also worked at a daycare taking care of babies and toddlers.
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
I love taking the kids on walks in the neighborhood or at the park. I can take them to a pool if there is one in the neighborhood. I can read books and play pretend with kids of any age.
The most important part about being a nanny...
Making sure the kids are comfortable with me and in their environment. Also, making sure that everyone is having fun!
My experience with special needs children...
I watched a 8 year old autistic boy and his younger sister for the summer. I took them to their neighbor pool and made sure they got to their soccer practice. The brother had issues with his attention span, so I had to keep him on track. He also had special food preferences, so I always kept extra of his favorite snacks in his backpack.
The most important part about being a nanny...
There were two kids, a 4 year old boy and a 1 year old girl, and the girl kept walking too far ahead of us and her brother said, "Sissy, slow down! You know Ms. Robin is old!"
