I am the mother of 2 young men, 19 and 21. I ran our local Lego Club for 7 years and volunteered at the local library. I was a full time nanny for 3 different families over the years in Massachusetts and Connecticut prior to having my own children.

I like going for hikes, bike rides, skiing, swimming, kayaking, roller blading, playing tennis, and badminton. I enjoy doing crafts, painting, felting, playing board games, reading, cooking and baking with kids.

I think the most important part about being a nanny is being on the same page as the parents. It’s important to have a good relationship with both the parents and the children. Consistency is also the key, being fun but also structured and helping the children become the best version of themselves. Teaching self esteem, compassion, discipline, and life skills.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of my favorite memories is when Leanna, who was 5 at the time, used to lay on the hood of my Geo Storm car and hold on the windshield wipers and refuse to move every Friday afternoon when it was time for me to go home. I would not see her until the following Monday and she was sad that I was leaving. I was flattered and we all thought it was so funny because she was so dramatic.
