A little bit about me

I have been certified in child care , CPR, and first-aid since the age of 16 and have worked with children of all ages from the daycare centers at various churches to full-time care for special needs children I have done it all. I'm a 4th generation teacher-in-progress and I always come prepared with flashcards, toys, and other learning tools that my family have stocked up on throughout the years. I am currently enrolled at UNLV majoring in early childhood education & development. Being 19 I find it very easy to form strong bonds with the little ones. I try to emulate Mary Poppins but the younger version that can't sing that well (I'm sure my references will fill you in.) I also checked part-time but i'm willing to do full-time if need be. More About Me

Relevant experience where I also cared for children were...

Throughout high school I tutored two girls ages 6 & 7 throughout the [phone number hidden] school year.

I have also worked in the child care centers at Grace Point & Abundant Life Church caring for newborns, toddlers, and children.

From summer 2017 to to May 2019 I worked as a Coach for N-Zone Sports. I have coached children ages ranging from 5 to 11 volleyball and basketball.

Activities I enjoy doing with children...

Coloring, Watching paw-patrol, Making fun snacks, Looking at nature documentaries, I also have an infinite amount of learning devices and toys, Teaching the child new and exciting things to show their parents. I am also able to withstand hours of baby shark doodoodoos & other stressful activities that caregivers have to endure.

The most important part about being a nanny...

Is making sure not only is the child happy & taken care of exceptionally but that they are learning something new each and every day. To me a nanny is not only supposed to be a caregiver but a mentor & role model as well.

My experience with special needs children...

I have cared for two children with ASD in 2018 for 5 months before they relocated. One being 4 and one being 5 in separate families. Both boys did not speak and were not potty trained. During this time I learned a lot about children with special needs and I believe that I can handle anything. (Please keep in mind I have only cared for special needs toddlers, NOT children.)

The most important part about being a nanny...

I have had many favorite nanny moments throughout the years but one that stands out in particular would be when I was caring for these two little girls from the ages of 3 up until they turned 6. After their 4th and 5th birthday I decided we were going to write a story about their family and they were going to be the authors. Every day they would draw things about their family and we would right captions on the top and I would teach the girls how to write the small sentences and after a month or two we had made the cutest book ever. When we were done I paid to have it made into an actual hardcover and the girls read the book to their parents page by page. The mom and dad were so shocked & surprised the look on their face was priceless and the girls definitely were proud of themselves. It was one of my favorite nanny moments ever.
