I have volunteered 100+ hours at a church as a teachers assistant for youth in the area. I helped keep the students engaged in religious study, monitored the class to ensure all students were quiet and attentive, as well as plan out the activities to meet the needs of both the students and staff.

I enjoy teaching children to paint, color, and make art with mixed media to let their creativity flow. I also love to get kids away from their phones and take them outdoors to learn about the world around them. I enjoy reading to them and just having conversations to better understand them.

What matters most to me is making sure I create a safe space for the children so they are comfortable enough to discuss their feelings with me. I believe it’s important to build up their self esteem and self worth at an early age and speak on things that they don't like. I had a difficult time as a child expressing myself and it made it more difficult when I got older to advocate for myself. By creating healthy communication habits children will be able to set boundaries that I believe will benefit them in the long run.
