I was a sunday school teacher/volenteer for about 2 years and group leader for local church kids summer camp. I was also a group leader as a volunteer in Moldova on a mission trip!
Activities I enjoy doing with children...
My favorite activities to do with children are coloring books, going to the park, and walking animals while they are in a stroller or on their own bike if they are able.
The most important part about being a nanny...
The most important part to me is when the child or children feel comfortable and safe around their caregiver and when they are able (if of age) to communicate their needs knowing they will be taken care of and not ignored.
My experience with special needs children...
I do not have experience with special needs children but I was a CNA at a specialized Alzheimers and dementia facility for elderly. I often experienced difficulty with cooperation, sleeping, eating, and bathing.
The most important part about being a nanny...
One of the sweetest moments I have shared with one of the kids was with a todler about 2 years old. It was bedtime and he loved reading stories right before bed, one of his favorite was lightening McQueen. I would read the story about 3x but then he would want me to stay until he fell asleep:) I thought it was really sweet.
