I am a San Antonio high school graduate and honorably discharged U.S. Navy veteran. After boot camp and A-school, I married my high school sweetheart and we shared 30 years together before I lost her to cancer. That experience deepened my empathy and commitment to caring for others, especially youth who need steady guidance.
After my service, I worked over 25 years at Costco while taking college courses, including time at SDSU. A workplace injury led me to shift careers, but my passion for mentoring youth is what drives me.
Raised in a large Native American and Mexican family from El Paso, I am the oldest male of 38 grandchildren. I grew up helping raise and protect the younger kids, learning patience, compassion, and responsibility.
My military discipline, cultural upbringing, and life as a father and widower give me the strength, empathy, and dedication to support children with structure, care, and respect. Mentorship isn’t just what I do, it’s who I am.
